The 2011-12 brings an exciting new faculty member and a number of new course offerings to Robson Hall.
We welcome Dr. Umut Özsu who specializes in public international law, history and theory of international law, comparative legal studies, sociology of law, and critical legal theory. Prof. Özsu will be teaching Contract Law and International Law.
Our new course offerings enhance our strength in the area of Aboriginal law with Aboriginal Law, Criminal Justice and Family Law and Advocating for Indigenous People.
Innovative new courses include Critical Conversations: The Idea of a Human Rights Museum, Education Law and Law and Popular Culture.
Putting your legal knowledge into practice will have new opportunities this year as our internship program develops. Students interested in internships will have new choices in the Business Law Clinic, the expanded Court Clerkship and the Legal Help Center.
We have an exciting array of Distinguished Visitors coming to visit, including: Stuart Murray, CEO of the Canadian Human Rights Museum on Friday, September 9; Thomas Kelley, Associate Professor, UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law on Thursday, September 22nd; and Benjamin Perrin, Assistant Professor, UBC Faculty of Law on Thursday, Oct. 20th.
