Sacha Paul
Sacha Paul is a graduate of Robson Hall Law School (2002). Sacha is a proud member of the English River First Nation, a Dene Community located in Northern Saskatchewan.
In 2003, Sacha clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada to the Honourable Justice Ian Binnie. To the best of his information, Sacha was the first Aboriginal person to clerk at the Supreme Court.
Sacha works at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP, which is one of the larger law firms in Winnipeg, practicing in the area of Aboriginal law, civil litigation and insurance. He has appeared in all level of courts including the Supreme Court of Canada (Canada (Prime Minister) v. Khadr, 2010 SCC 3 and Bastien Estate v. Canada, 2011 SCC 38).
For Sacha, the value of a Robson Hall education is that it provides students with a well-rounded education. It equips students to be “practice-ready” and to be able to address the realities of practising law. Sacha is deeply indebted to Robson Hall and believes that the education he has obtained at Robson Hall has played an important role in any successes he has had in the legal world.
